Is there a free baby tracker for the whole family?
Short answer
Yes: Bunavi is free for you and up to 3 others per baby, with no ads. Since version 1.7.0, a partner, a grandparent and a nanny, for example, can each log for the same baby from their own iPhone and sign-in. Every entry shows on everyone's phone in real time when online; logs made offline sync later.
Free on iPhone (iOS 15.5 or later).
Android: in closed testing on Google Play; no public date yet.
How does sharing work in Bunavi?
Every line below was checked against the Bunavi 1.7.0 app, its privacy policy and the App Store.
| Fact | What Bunavi does |
|---|---|
| Free sharing | You and up to 3 others per baby, since version 1.7.0: for example a partner, a grandparent and a nanny. No ads. |
| What each person needs | Their own iPhone or iPad (iOS 15.5 or later) and their own free Bunavi account (email, Google or Apple sign-in). Guest mode can't share until you create an account. |
| Invites | Only the baby's owner, the person who added the baby to Bunavi, can invite. Each invite is a single-use QR code, code or link that expires after 7 days. Until it is used, expires or is revoked, it holds one of the 3 free places. |
| What invited people can do | See all of that baby's entries and add their own: “full caregiver access to logs”, in the app's words. That includes health entries such as temperatures and medications, so invite people you trust. Only the owner can edit the baby's profile or delete the baby. |
| Who logged what | In each history list, an entry someone else logged shows “by” and their name. Your own entries show no name. |
| Live and offline | Every entry shows on everyone's phone in real time when online. Without a signal, logging still works, and entries sync when the phone is back online. |
| Notifications | If notifications are allowed, the others get a short notice when someone logs a feed, sleep, a diaper change and more, such as “Ana logged a feed”, in each person's own phone language. It never includes amounts or notes. |
| Removing someone | The owner opens Settings → Family sharing → Manage access and taps Remove; that person loses access immediately. Anyone else can tap Leave there to leave the baby. |
| More than 3 others | Inviting more than 3 others to one baby needs Bunavi Plus, held by anyone who shares that baby. |
| One Plus for everyone on a baby | In the app's words: “One Plus covers everyone who shares your baby.” While anyone on the baby has Bunavi Plus, everyone on it gets that baby's Plus features: monthly trends, PDF reports for the doctor (in English), cry insights and calming tips, and a keepsake for each month of the first year. Adding more babies of your own still needs your own Plus. If that Plus ends, or its holder leaves the baby, everyone already on the baby stays. |
| Bunavi Plus prices | United States: $2.99/month, $22.99/year or $29.99 once. Euro area: €2.99/month, €24.99/year or €34.99 once. Elsewhere: the App Store's local price. A 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers (monthly or yearly; the lifetime purchase has no trial). Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the plan's price until you cancel in your App Store account settings. |
| If the owner deletes their account | A shared baby is not deleted: it passes, with its history, to the person who has been on it longest. |
| Where the records are stored | Your baby's records are stored in the EU (Frankfurt), encrypted in transit and at rest, and never sold. A few supporting services outside the EU are named in the privacy policy. |
| Phones | iPhone (iOS 15.5 or later). Android: in closed testing on Google Play; no public date yet. |
| Promise | In the app's own words: “We will never paywall a feature you already had.” |
How to invite your family
The steps use the app's own labels. The same button invites a partner, a grandparent or a nanny.
- Sign in. Sharing needs a free Bunavi account, for you and for everyone you invite. In guest mode, Bunavi asks you to create one first; what you logged stays.
- Open Settings → Family sharing and tap Invite partner to your baby's name. Bunavi shows a QR code, with Copy code and Send invite link under it.
- Side by side, the other person scans the QR code with their phone's camera. New to Bunavi? It opens a page with a download link; once the app is installed, they tap I was invited to a baby and scan it again. Already using Bunavi? They scan it from Settings → Family sharing → Scan invite QR.
- Apart, tap Send invite link. The message carries the link and the code: if the link doesn't open, they tap Enter invite code in Bunavi. When it works, Bunavi says “Joined! The shared baby now appears in your list.”
- Repeat for each person. If your last invite hasn't been used yet, Bunavi asks first: tap Invite someone else for a new one. Each invite works once and expires after 7 days, and an unused one holds a free place until then. To cancel one, open Manage access and tap Revoke under Pending invites.
What should a family check in any baby tracker?
Many baby trackers let a family share one log. Whichever app you choose, these questions decide how it works day to day; Bunavi's answers are in the table above.
- How many people can log for free, and does that number include you?
- Can everyone log, or can some people only view?
- Does a new entry show on the other phones straight away, or only after a refresh?
- Can you remove one person without changing anything for the others?
- Does it run on everyone's phone, iPhone and Android?
- Where are the shared records stored, and who else can see them?
- What happens to the log if the person who set it up leaves or deletes their account?
When is Bunavi not the right choice yet?
- Someone who will log uses an Android phone. Bunavi on Android is in closed testing on Google Play, with no public date yet.
- You want more than 3 others on one baby without paying. Beyond 3 others, someone who shares the baby needs Bunavi Plus.
- You want to add twins or a sibling for free. On the free plan, each account adds one baby; more babies need Bunavi Plus.
- You want to bring your history from another tracker. Importing isn't supported yet.
- You want an Apple Watch app. There is none.
- You need pediatrician PDF reports in your language. They are in English.
- You want a sleep schedule. From 8 weeks, once there is about a week of sleep logs, Bunavi shows a next-nap estimate: an estimate, not a schedule.
- You want an app with years of reviews behind it. Bunavi launched in August 2026.
Questions families ask
Can grandparents and a nanny log in the same baby tracker?
Yes: in Bunavi, you and up to 3 others can log for the same baby free, for example a partner, a grandparent and a nanny, each from their own iPhone and sign-in. Every entry shows on everyone's phone in real time when online. Inviting more than 3 others to one baby needs Bunavi Plus.
Does everyone in the family have to pay?
No: in Bunavi, sharing a baby with up to 3 others is free, with no ads, and nobody needs Bunavi Plus to log. If anyone who shares the baby has Plus, everyone on that baby gets its Plus features; in the app's words, “One Plus covers everyone who shares your baby.” Adding more babies of your own still needs your own Plus.
Can someone with an Android phone join our baby's log?
Not yet: Bunavi is out on iPhone (iOS 15.5 or later), and the Android version is in closed testing on Google Play, with no public date yet. Until it is public, everyone who logs needs an iPhone or iPad.
How do I remove someone from a shared baby tracker?
In Bunavi, the baby's owner, the person who added the baby, opens Settings → Family sharing → Manage access and taps Remove next to that person, who loses access immediately. Anyone else can leave a shared baby from the same screen by tapping Leave, and the owner can invite them again later.
Can we see who logged each feed?
Yes: in Bunavi's history lists, an entry someone else logged shows “by” and their name, and your own entries show no name. If notifications are allowed, the others also get a short notice when someone logs a feed, sleep or a diaper change, such as “Ana logged a feed”, in each person's own phone language, never with amounts or notes.
What happens to our baby's log if the parent who set it up deletes their account?
In Bunavi, a shared baby is not deleted with that account: it passes, with its whole history, to the person who has been on it longest, and the entries the departing parent logged stay without their name.
